Job Summary
Working in the Tourism Events section of the Enterprise, Regeneration and Tourism Directorate, the post holder will carry out related tasks comprehensively, enthusiastically and accurately. The post holder will promote Newry, Mourne and Down District Council in a positive and professional manner and ensure that confidentiality is maintained in all issues relating to the work of the Council.  The post holder will assist in undertaking the development, management, organisation and promotion of a calendar of events and flagship festivals across the Newry, Mourne and Down District.

Hours of Work
36 hours per week.
The post holder must be prepared to work outside normal office hours, including evenings, weekends, and Public and extra Statutory Holidays for which the appropriate payment will be made or time in lieu granted if relevant.

Duration of appointment
Fixed term contract for 50 weeks commencing 01 September 2025.

Work Pattern
Flexi 36 hours Monday to Friday.
​​​​​​​Hours of work are kept under review and may change in order to meet operational requirements, providing requisite notice.

Location and transferability
Location is Warrenpoint Town Hall.
Whilst the current vacant post is based in Warrenpoint Town Hall, suitable candidates who are placed on a reserve list may be offered a similar post in other Council locations.  The post holder may be required to transfer to other locations in accordance with any requirements stated in the Job Description, any reviews of service delivery or other requirements as may arise from time to time.  Any amendments made to work location will be implemented following appropriate consultation and provision of reasonable notice.

Salary
Scale 1b SCP 3-4, currently £24,027 – £24,404 per annum based on a 36 hour week (pro rata to hours worked).
