Principal Officer, Community Involvement

Salary: £43,693 – £49,764 per annum.  We also have an excellent pension scheme with an employer contribution of 19%.

The post holder will be responsible for leading out on community involvement key business activities.

 

Community involvement and tenant participation is a core function within the Housing Executive, engaging, enabling and empowering our communities; ensuring local communities are more involved, better informed and can contribute to enhanced decision-making in relation to housing policy and how it affects them. Community involvement and tenant participation helps us to understand our tenants’ circumstances and the lived experience better and empowers us to take a proactive approach to problem solving.

Candidates must meet the following requirements:

·         1. i) Hold a degree level qualification (level 6) or equivalent AND have a minimum of at least 3 years relevant* experience

OR

·         ii) Hold a level 5 qualification in Housing AND have a minimum of at least 3 years relevant* experience

OR

·         iii) Can demonstrate equivalent continuing professional development or experiential learning AND have a minimum of at least 5 years relevant* experience

*Relevancy will be determined with due regard to the duties and level of responsibilities set out in the job description for this role

 

Candidates must include dates to demonstrate the required years’ experience and demonstrate how this experience is relevant with examples

  • 2. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience of developing and successfully managing/supporting a project/s, contract/s or programme of work, including ensuring that good governance arrangements are developed and maintained. (Please include dates)

3. Candidates must have significant experience in a minimum of 3 of the following 4 areas:

  • A) Experience of working in partnership with internal and external stakeholders including clear evidence of an ability to effectively achieve business objectives for the benefit of customers and/or communities
  • B) Experience of drafting formal reports and approval papers, as officer responsible, to agreed timescales and appropriate standards with recommendations for service delivery or issue resolution
  • C) Managing and monitoring budgets in accordance with financial policies and procedures
  • D) Taking a lead role in the successful management of significant housing change/policy or leading a team responsible for the delivery of a range of housing services – with a robust knowledge of those business and policy areas
  • 4. Candidates must possess a current driving licence or have access to a form of transport that enable them to meet the requirements of the post in full.

 

Desirable Criteria

·         1. Have successfully completed the PRINCE2 Foundation or Practitioner course.

Alternatively, if appointed, candidates will be expected to successfully complete a PRINCE2 qualification as soon as is practicable.
