HB Team Leader

Salary: £31,586 – £35,235 per annum.  We also have an excellent pension scheme with an employer contribution of 19%.

The HB Team Leader will be responsible for the day to day supervision and support of staff within front line operational teams within the HB units, and providing support for the HB management team, including provision of information and statistics, and involvement in policy development and training where required.

Candidates must meet the following requirements:

1. Either

·         i) Possess a degree or equivalent level qualification (Level 6*)

AND one year’s relevant experience working within a Housing Benefit or other Social Security related benefit function

OR

·         ii) Possess a BTEC Higher Cert/Diploma or equivalent levelqualification (Level 5*).

·         AND can demonstrate at least 2 years’ relevant experience working within a Housing Benefit or other Social Security related benefit function.

OR

·         iii) Can demonstrate at least three years’ relevant experience working within a Housing Benefit or other Social Security related benefit function.

AND can demonstrate continued professional development including the attainment of relevant learning / qualifications. (Please include dates)

It is the responsibility of the candidate to demonstrate equivalency

2. Can demonstrate significant relevant experience in at least 3 of the following 4 areas:

  • A) Development or review of Housing Benefit policies
  • B) Implementation or operation of HB policies and procedures.
  • C) Use of a computerised system in the administration of Housing Benefit.
  • D) Experience of assessing Housing Benefit claims.
  • 3. Possess a current driving licence or have access to a form of transport that enables them to meet the requirements of the post in full
