Senior Executive Assistant – External Engagement

Salary: £37,280 – £42,839 per annum.  We also have an excellent pension scheme with an employer contribution of 19%.

To work as part of a Board and Executive support team, working collaboratively with the Secretariat Manager to deliver an effective secretariat function to the Chief Executive, Chair and Vice Chair of the NIHE.  As the day-to-day lead on diary management and external engagement, to ensure a pro-active high-quality, personal, professional and responsive executive support service to the Chief Executive, Chair and Vice Chair, to support the organisation and to ensure that it continues to meet its core objectives.

Candidates must meet the following requirements:

1. Either

·         A) Possess a degree or equivalent level qualification, AND can demonstrate at least 2 years’ experience in a secretariat role including supervisory responsibilities for staff and provision of governance advice and guidance to senior staff.

OR

  • B) Can demonstrate 5 years’ experience in a secretariat role including supervisory responsibility for staff and provision of governance advice and guidance to senior staff, AND can demonstrate continued professional development including the attainment of relevant learning/qualifications. 2. Can demonstrate experience in:

  • A) Building effective working relationships with senior management, Board/Committee members, public representatives and other customers and stakeholders;
  • B) Effective minute taking at Board or senior/executive committee level;
  • C) Building strategic partnerships and representing their organisation with external stakeholders;
  • D) An awareness of the principles of good governance including the role of Board & CEO

 

Desirable Criteria

  • 1. Hold or be working toward a professional qualification in Governance at Level 4 or higher i.e. CIPFA Governance Certificate or Level 4 Certificate in Corporate Governance.
  • 2. Experience of working within the public sector in Northern Ireland.
