| Assistant Director – Housing

Salary: £80,607 – £90,630 per annum. We also have an excellent pension scheme with an employer contribution of 19%.
To lead and ensure the effective and efficient delivery of Housing Services for the assigned region.
As a member of the Directorate’s senior management team ensure the provision of excellent customer centred housing services in a landlord at scale.

Candidates must meet the following requirements:
- 1. Possess a degree level qualification (i.e. Level 6) or above or an equivalent level professional qualification
- 2. Hold a current professional membership of a relevant professional body e.g. CIH
OR
- Can demonstrate ability to obtain this within 1 year of commencement
- 3. Have at least 3 years’ relevant senior management* level experience in a large**, complex and customer focused organisation (Please include dates)
*Senior management is defined as responsibility for managing a service or business unit, as a head of function and normally reporting directly to at least an Assistant Director or equivalent within the organisation.
**NIHE employs in excess of 3,200 staff and manages a revenue budget of circa £1.2bn.
4. Have significant experience of:
- A) Effectively managing a significant housing service in a relevant organisation to deliver business objectives
- B) Successfully undertaking a senior representational role with stakeholders in order to resolve complex housing matters through engagement with partners
- C) Leading significant change programmes, which delivered demonstrable and sustainable performance improvement and high quality customer services
- D) Leading a team to deliver significant performance improvements
- E) Overseeing and being responsible for budget management, contract management and people resources
- 5. Possess a current driving licence or have access to a form of transport that enables them to meet the requirements of the post in full
Desirable Criteria
- 1. Experience of successfully managing a Housing Selection scheme
- 2. Possess a relevant degree level qualification (i.e. Level 6) or above e.g. housing, social sciences or construction
