2025-45 Assistant Housing Benefit Recovery Manager 4.30pm on 20 March 2025 Salary: £36,124- £41,511 annum. We also have an excellent pension scheme with an employer contribution of 19%.
The Assistant Housing Benefit Recovery Manager is responsible for assisting the Housing Benefit Recovery Manager in developing and implementing HB overpayment recovery strategies and assisting with the management of day-to-day operations in the Housing Benefit Recovery Office.

Candidates must meet the following requirements:

1. Either
• i) Possess a degree level qualification (Level 6*) or equivalent level qualification.
OR
• ii) Can demonstrate equivalent continuing professional development/experiential learning and at least 2 years working within a Housing Benefit overpayment recovery or other Social Security benefit overpayment recovery related function. (Please include dates)
2. Have at least 1 years’ experience of dealing with the recovery of Housing Benefit overpayments, to include: (Please include dates)
• A) Effectively leading a team involved in the administration of a HB or other Social Security related benefit function to achieve Key Performance Indicators and deliver Business Improvement Objectives.
• B) Experience of managing business operations within a service delivery environment to provide high quality service to customers.
• C) Ensuring proper governance and adherence with debt recovery policies and procedures.
• D) Building internal and external relationships with stakeholders in order to resolve complex matters.
3. Can demonstrate experience of:
• A) Interpreting, applying and providing guidance on Housing Benefit overpayment recovery matters.
• B) Using a computerised system in the administration of Housing Benefit overpayment recovery.
• C) Reviewing and shaping services in order to ensure continuous improvement.
4. Possess a current driving licence or have access to a form of transport that enables them to meet the requirements of the post in full
