| Salary: £37,280 – £42,839 per annum. We also have an excellent pension scheme with an employer contribution of 19%.
Responsible to the Electrical Safety Compliance Manager for the implementation, monitoring and review of the Executive’s Policies, and Procedures for Electrical Safety, Managing the Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) programme and contracts, including completion of remedial works, to ensure the NIHE is fully compliant with its statutory and regulatory duties to its customers, employees, and third parties.

Candidates must meet the following requirements:
- 1. i) Possess a degree or equivalent level 6 qualification relevant to electrical installations Plus 1 year’s relevant experience* working in an Electrical Installation related function.
OR
- ii) BTEC Higher or equivalent Level 5 qualification relevant to electrical installations Plus 3 year’s relevant experience* working in an Electrical installation related function
OR
- iii) Can demonstrate equivalent continuing professional development or experiential learning AND a minimum of 5 years’ experience * working in an Electrical Installation related function (Please include dates)
*Relevant experience would be, working on Installing Electrical Installations, Testing and Inspection of Electrical Installations, Certifying Electrical Installations, Auditing and Inspection of Electrical Installations, Supervising, Project Management, Quantity Surveying and/or Contract Managing works to Electrical Installations.
2. Hold the following Electrical Installation Certifications:
- Level 3 Electrotechnical apprenticeship, or equivalent, incorporating end point assessment of competence, AM2 (City & Guilds 2356 Level 3 NVQ or equivalent Qualification).
- Level 3 Certificate/Award in Inspection, Testing and Certification of Electrical Installations (City & Guilds 2391 or both the City & Guilds 2394 and 2395 Qualifications OR equivalent Qualifications).
- Level 3 Award in the Requirements for Electrical Installations: BS 7671: 2018 or (as amended) Currently 2018/18th Edition.
- 3. Membership or eligibility for membership in a professional body such as the Institution of Engineering and Technology (MIET (Member) or TMIET (Technician Member)) or similar.
4. For the purpose of shortlisting, candidates must demonstrate significant experience in all the following areas:
- A) Applied knowledge of electrical installations, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in various environments, including residential, commercial, and industrial settings. This must include applying specialist knowledge of BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations), including for inspection, testing, certification, and reporting activities—including EICRs—and managing associated remedial works. Demonstrate experience in conducting technical audits, producing high‑quality reports, and providing practical, compliant, and responsive technical advice and guidance to stakeholders.
- B) Managing electrical installation works or maintenance contracts and/or projects across multiple buildings, ensuring effective administration, adherence to specifications, robust financial control and responsibility for the monitoring and reporting of a range of performance indicators associated with delivery. Includin demonstrating proficiency in ICT systems relevant to estates management, alongside strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- 5. Possess a current driving licence or have access to a form of transport that will permit the candidate to meet the requirements of the post in full.
All employees are assigned a base location, with office bases in either 2 Adelaide Street, Belfast, Marlborough House, Craigavon or Twickenham House Ballymena. This role however will require regular travel throughout NI.
