Assistant Solicitor

Salary: £36,124 – £49,764 per annum. We also have an excellent pension scheme with an employer contribution of 19%.
The Assistant Solicitor will undertake and assist in the provision of professional and timely legal advice and assistance in relation to a range of matters across the main functions of the team.
The Assistant Solicitor will be expected to work independently, under the supervision of the Senior Solicitors within Legal Services to ensure the provision of a high-quality legal services to all levels of the organisation.
The Assistant Solicitor will undertake a programme of development within Legal Services, with a typical duration of two to three years, engaging in a comprehensive Personal Development Programme, and gaining skills and experience across a number of areas of the Housing Executive’s legal work. The Assistant Solicitor will be appointed as a Band 7 Solicitor on satisfactory completion of the Programme. The essential criteria are detailed in the Candidate Information Pack. Candidates must meet the following requirements: · 1. Possess a degree or equivalent level (Level 6*) qualification. *refer to the Qualifications Framework
3. Can demonstrate at least 24 months relevant post-qualification experience in the provision, or assisting in the provision, of legal advice and assistance in relation to either; (Please include dates) · The conduct of, or assisting in the conduct of, claims litigation matters in the High Court or County Court; or · B) General title issues including undertaking residential and/or commercial conveyancing transactions. 4. Possess a current driving licence or have access to a form of transport that enables them to meet the requirements of the post in full. *
Desirable Criteria · 1. Can demonstrate at least 24 months relevant post-qualification experience in the provision, or assisting in the provision of, legal advice and assistance and representation in relation to both areas of law specified at paragraphs a) and b) of Essential Criterion 3.
